Oh good god. I hate the universe right now. Danae -- please update as soon as you can.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of them. All will be well.

Praying for them all. DOn't know what else to say...

Oh, what a high, to read the last post, and then a crash, to read this. I am holding them all in my thoughts. Keep us posted, and thank you so much for being our messenger.

prayers and blessings to them all...in my heart I know all will be OK.

Grrl - you couldn't have more people thinking about you all and praying for Gefilte.

We'll keep doing so 'til we hear he's safe and sound and home with you.

thoughts and prayers...
thoughts and prayers...
thoughts and prayers...
and congratulations!

(keep on keepin' on, Danae!)

Damn... I just refreshed to see both posts.
My thoughts are with them. I hope it's the last bit of floor cake for them all, and that Gefilte baby is back with the family ASAP.

Congrats to and prayers for all the family.

Thoughts, prayers, love and congratulations going out to Grrl and Sarah and their families. Please let us know more about how the babe is doing as you get details.

Thanks for the update Danae. They are in my prayers.

The universe cannot be that cruel. Gefilte will be fine. This happens a lot. They're just being careful.

I'm so glad he's here.

Prayers... prayers.

Just adding that my thoughts and prayers are with all involved.

Hang in there little Gefilte.

*more thoughts, more prayers*

My thoughts are with them and I pray for a quick and complete recovery for the baby.

Thanks so much for keeping us posted.

More prayers coming from here...

Have a strong feeling in my bones that all is fine...

Hang in there little guy, you're gonna be ok...

The Internets are all pulling for Gefilte, you know it's true. Get better quickly, baby boy!!!

Seems like every baby gets a trip to the NICU anymore. I'm not worrying just yet--Gefilte will be fine. It's Grrl I'm worried about!

Sending big Texas well wishes and congrats. This is probably just a tiny hiccup after such a long labour....

Danae, thank you for the news, my thoughts and prayers are headed to Gefilte and Grrl and everyone involved.

I hope his stay in NICU is very brief and he is certified 100% healthy.

They have my thoughts and prayers. Thank you for sharing the news Danae.

Thoughts, prayers and all my love.

Thanks for the updates Danae, I'm thinking of you too sweetie and sending my love to you as well.

Good vibes, thoughts and prayers heading eastward for Gefilte Boy and family. This veteran of one too many "Maternity Ward" and "Birth Story" shows is sure this is just a bump on the road to home with Grrl and Dad. It HAS to be, that's all there is to it.

We just went through this with my niece. All *will* be well, I can feel it.

Sending bestest thoughts and much love for all.

Thanks so much for the updates.

Here's hoping everything clears up as fast as possible for baby G and that Grrl, Mr. Grrl, and G-man are all healthy and home together soon.

Thoughts & prayers from Maryland...xoxox

Nothin' simple with this chick, huh.
Thoughts and prayers.

My thoughts and prayers are with the whole family, Sarah included. I know this will have a happy outcome, but damn this sucks right now.

OMG. Will this damn roller coaster never end? Why does life have to be so damn complicated? You and Grrl have both been in my thoughts a LOT lately Danae. I just refuse to believe that anything will keep Get-Up Boy down. Thanks for keeping us posted.

Oh, please let everything be ok.

It will (please) have a happy outcome and god(dess) help them along the way to it.

I 2nd all the above - I'm thinking of them and hoping all will be well.

thoughts and prayers from Australia.
Many many thoughts and prayers.

Praying hard here.

thoughts and prayers to all involved...I hope everyone is happy and healthy very soon

lots of thoughts and prayers for all...

Long labors with broken water sometimes lead to infections...This happened to my son, 5 days in the NICU and scads of antibiotics and he was good to go. The breathing problems he had then never amounted to anything, so everybody breathe and think good thoughts for them.

Oh, God.

Thanks for the reassuring words, Mia - prayers and best wishes to all concerned, including the staff taking care of Gefilte Boy. I guess it was premature to relax - looking forward to crossing that boundary very soon.

Sending the Grrl family all my love.

thoughts, prayers and love being sent your way.

Oh my! I just checked in for the first time since Mr. W got home for dinner and saw this post before the happier one below.

I am praying that all turns out OK. After all that it has taken to get to this point, it just has to; if there is any justice in the world, it will be.

They have my thoughts and prayers. My daughter had breathing issues at birth too- so she spent 5 days in the NICU, but you could never tell it now by looking at her....

Prayers and thoughts...

Thinking of baby boy and his mama and daddy and surromama. Praying for a speedy happy recovery, in which this little family can find some happy peace, some simple joy, for once, for the first time, together.

Congrats on Baby Grrl! Best wishes to Sarah and Mr. Grrl on entry into the world of baby!

Am trusting there will be a speedy recovery from the NICU.

Congrats to the entire family - I will be praying that his stay in the NICU is short and he is home v. v. soon.

Although I absolutely HATE that there's been a damned bump in the road, I just know everything will soon be 100% fine. Congratulations on the arrival of your sweet boy, grrl and mr.grrl!

My son--who's been healthy as a horse his whole life (and pretty much the size of one, too!)--was whisked away from me immediately after birth. As others have said, The Powers That Be err on the side of caution.

All involved are in my prayers--including you, Danae!

Sending thoughts and prayers and all my love to everyone involved. Thanks, Danae.

Sending my thoughts and prayers to Getupgrrl ...
Strength.
Amen.

This happened to my son too. He was in the NICU for a week after birth. As a result he had asthma every time he a cold for the first year, but I'm happy to say no futher complications. If it was a rough labor he's probably low on sirphactin(sp?). I'm thinking of her. Give her love from the internet.

So glad that gefilte was finally born! And sending lots of positive thoughts and prayers to the whole troop.

Thanks for updating so quickly Danae. At least Grrl knows she has hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of people sending her good thoughts and prayers. Not too many people can say that : )

Prayers for a short NICU stay for sweet little Gefilte. Prayers for peace and sanity to his parents and fantastic Sarah.

More prayers are coming from over here.

But all the cool kids go to the NICU -- Tertia's babies, Julie's baby, practically Gefilte's whole playgroup. And they're all fine. And Gefilte will be too.

Poor Grrl though, just what she DOESN'T need right now!

And poor Sarah! How long was she in labor??

Many many prayers for all involved on their way.

All of my prayers...

Congratulations and thoughts for a swift recovery from nicu for grrl, Sarah and family.

Thinking of you too D of course.

T

Both posts came up as I refreshed. I was so happy to see the first post - right to the point of tears! - and then I saw the second post. To the first post, CONGRATULATIONS!! To the second, I'm sick to my stomach thinking that harm might come to the new baby boy, but I am heartened by the stories that others have told of short visits to the NICU followed by healthy, happy lives. Keep those stories coming, y'all. Sending good vibes to Gelfiite Boy and the rest of the crew. SVGHH, and NBWH.

He'll be fine. Much love to all. And can I just say I hope their last name is not Fisher? Gefilte Fisher. Thinking muchly of you all. Peace.

what more do they have to go through?

A HUGE congratulations to the Grrl family, a huge thank you to Sarah - she must have had a really tough time, I hope she recovers well.

And a HUGE thumbs down to the universe which would allow Grrl and Mr Grrl and Gefilte and Sarah to have to cope with the NICU. Just not fair, even if it's only a short stay, which I am hoping it is.

My thoughts and prayers are with grrl and family.
Thank you for updating and please take care of yourself also.

C'mon Gefilte! C'mon little guy!

Hey, is there something we can do for Sarah, too?

(I realize the whole "we" thing is being pretty generous with other people's money.)

Just floating the idea.

And Mr. Grrl doesn't get enough props, either.

Speakin' as a Mister myself.

--FD

I had a little one in the NICU, too, and I remember well the anxiety. But many prayers are sent your way, Grrl. Danae, please post an update as SOON as you have it.

It has to be ok, it has to be ok, it has TO! So many prayers, good thoughts, crossed digits, incense, whatever! However, my first spent a week in the NICU for breathing problems and she is the healthiest 24 yr old now! Good vibes heading Gelfite's way.

"Gefilte will be fine. This happens a lot. They're just being careful."

Repeat. Repeat again.

Thoughts and prayers from Boston...

Prayers and congrats to the Grrl family!

Good thoughts and congratulations to Gefilte and everybody involved.

I'm upset for the families, but I'm not terribly worried for Gefilte. Gd that sounds awful. Does it even make any sense? :-(

I think the docs work on the better safe than sorry system. So many of us have had young'uns in the NICU, and have lived to tell the tale.

But nonetheless, this is not how one wants things to be. So poor Grrl, poor Sarah, poor little Gefilte. Many hugs to all the Gefilte families.

And to Danae as well. I can only hope she's on the right coast too. ;-)

Sending prayers from France.

Just wanted to say congrats to grrl. My prayers are with her family. I'm a major de-lurker and a gigantic fan -- I love grrl's writing. Cheers!!! - CSW

Sending many prayers up that this bump in the unending road will be over soon.

just wanted to add - my prayers are with the little one too. I am just very excited for his arrival.

Congratulations to Grrl,Sarah,Mr.Grrl and a huge "Welcome" to Gefilte Boy from New Zealand.
Hope the trip to NICU turns out to be a precaution and that this all comes out as it should.
SGHH!!!!
Love to you and Mr. Danae too
xxx

Delurking to send my thoughts and prayers from California. Danae, my heart goes out to you also.

Oh No! Poor little man! Thinking of him, and his Daddy and Mama.

Is Sarah ok? I hope so. Wish I could give her a huge hug. She must be so exhausted.

I hope that Grrl & Danae know they have NO obligation to tell us anything at all.

But, good wishes to Gefilte boy, Grrl, husband and surromama.

bj

Holding them all in the light. Congratulations to the whole family!

Elle

Oh no. I'll say a little prayer for them tonight. I've been anxiously hitting "Update" all day long.

I'm sure everything will be fine. Lots of thoughts and prayers from here too.

prayers from us too. something similar happened to our little girl like this last week - she was turning blue, not breathing right. in the NICU for 4 days, and now is absolutely fine, home and a gem.

Congrats and Good thoughts! I'm begining to see why Grrl closed her post. All of the internet goings "more, more, tell us MORE!" and living each up and down with her--the pressure! Man, you are a peach, Danae for putting up with all of us. Not that realizing this will stop me from my obsessive refreshing. :)

I'm sure he'll be fine. Full term, and all that jazz. Yes, docs tend to err on the side of caution... He'll get a few days ( or less, hopefully) in a nice comfy isolette, then head home with Mommie and Daddy.
CONGRATULATIONS
and thank you for the updates!

Congratulations!!! The little one is in my prayers.

Oh my goodness, thoughts and prayers and lots of them.

Congratulations to all, and hopes for a very speedy recovery.

Thanks for the update Danae!

Thoughts and prayers have been dispatched.

They are in my thoughts. Please let us know how things go.

Hoping for a speedy recovery.

Thoughts and prayers from DC...

Welcome baby! (((Good thoughts)))

Oh fuck, no!

Thoughts and prayers and I'll even slaughter some chickens or something if you think it will help!
Thinking of Grrl and Sarah and their family, and of you Danae.
Thanks for keeping us posted.

good thoughts and prayers being sent.

hoping it is just a teeny tiny bump in the road.

Another "this happened to us and it all ended well." I was in labor for four days, two of them with broken water, and when my son was born he needed some time under an oxygen tent and some IV antibiotics. But we went home right on time, two days later.

good thoughts and prayers being sent.

hoping it is just a teeny tiny bump in the road.

Best wishes to baby and family. My eldest was in the NICU for 4 days with "breathing problems." It is rough, but today she is a strapping, healthy, sassy 3yo. Positive thoughts!

First, congratulations!!! Here is to everything and everyone being okay and healthy very soon. Grrl, Sarah, baby, and DAd are in my thoughts.

Congratulations and blessings. I'll be thinking of baby and family all night.

Got both posts at once. I'm staying really positive up here on Salt Spring Island and will put out all the good vibes for the little guy...
Thanks Danae
xoxox

Never underestimate the power of a whole lot of people with single-minded intent. Gefilte's got a whole lotta mojo on his side. :)

And, of course: welcome and congratulations!

Prayers being said.

Congratulations to the entire family. This baby brings wonderful blessings to them all.
Prayers for the bouncing baby boy!
